Glasson itself is midway between Dublin and Galway and is an ideal base for a touring around Ireland.
We have some of the best Restaurants, Golf courses, and Pubs in Ireland within a short walk of the houses. What better way to end the day than to unwind in front of a cosy open fire in the sitting room or relax on the patio.
Myself and my friends stayed in Glasson Mews twice over the past year when we were attending weddings in the hotel. We found the house very comfortable. The house is a few mins walk from the hotel and in a lovely quiet area. It is great value and has everything you need. The house is always very clean and any problems or queries Niall always responded quickly. I would highly recommend Glasson Mews.

Glasson is situated close to Lough Ree which is a haven for fishing, it is very popular for boating and sailing, in fact Lough Ree Yacht Club founded in 1770 is the second oldest yacht club in the world.
There is something for everyone on the established walks around Glasson, whether you simply want to enjoy the beauty of nature or find subjects for photography you will not be disappointed. There is an ample scope for the artist, the antiquarian or the wild flower enthusiast to explore the lakeshore and be well rewarded for time spent.
Golfing and sailing are big attractions in the area. Golfers are spoilt for choice in
selecting where to play. While the keen sailor can hire a boat locally and spend the day enjoying a relaxing trip on the Shannon& Lough Ree. The quaint village of Glasson which is full with old world charm, is located near the eastern banks of Lough Ree. Also known as the & The Village of Roses, it is at its best in summer with roses in bloom but even in winter it has hostelries where one can spend many a happy hour. Within walking distance (3 km) are two award-winning restaurants.
Glasson is a beautiful village located in Goldsmith country, named after Oliver Goldsmith who spent many of his childhood years living in the nearby village of Lissoy.
For a small village, Glasson hosts a wealth of activities, including some great pubs and restaurants, a championship golf course, and of course, beautiful countryside.
Originally an estate village, Glasson has developed into a village of
great beauty and character. The writer Oliver Goldsmith lived in a house in nearby Lissoy until 1747, the ruins of which can still be seen.
Athlone town has a wide range of shops, restaurants and services catering for all needs. Glasson is an ideal base to explore the midlands from its wild beauty to the delights of the Shannon and Lough Ree.
